OBJECTIVES
The federation aims to:
To serve worldwide as a connecting platform for, and to strengthen and connect, Afro-organizations, with particular attention to communities in the Netherlands, the Caribbean part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Suriname, and other regions where people of African descent live;
Promoting equal rights, social justice, cultural recognition, self-determination, and economic development of Afro-communities worldwide;
Acting as a discussion partner in the dialogue with national and international governments, multilateral institutions, civil society organizations, businesses, and other relevant actors;
Promoting solidarity, cooperation, and knowledge exchange between Afro-organizations in the Global South and the diaspora;
Developing, supporting, and coordinating policy initiatives, projects, and programs aimed at emancipation, education, heritage, mental and physical health, entrepreneurship, and social participation;
Contributing to institutional and social infrastructures that enable sustainable development, self-organization, and political representation of Afro-communities;
Promoting international networks, platforms, and exchange programs to strengthen the global Afro community;
Acknowledging, reflecting on, and actively processing the lasting impact of the history of slavery and colonial legacies, and promoting reparation, recognition, and healing in the broadest sense;
Performing all further acts that are related to the foregoing in the broadest sense or that may be conducive thereto.
The activities of the federation are aimed exclusively at the public interest and not at making a profit. Any proceeds are fully utilized for the realization of the statutory objectives.
Mission
From a Dutch perspective, the federation is committed worldwide to the structural strengthening, advocacy, and connection of Pan-African organizations. The federation promotes social justice, cultural recognition, economic independence, and political influence. It creates space for cooperation, policy influence, and self-organization, in solidarity with the fight against racism, colonial legacies, the lingering impact of the history of slavery, and systemic exclusion.
We strive for a world in which people of African descent are free to shape their own future, rooted in dignity, justice, and collective strength. We are building sustainable systems in which our communities are not only heard but also actively participate in deciding the course that affects them.
We do this by:

Promoting and safeguarding the interests of the Afro community and of our (future) members, nationally and internationally.
Promoting cooperation and solidarity between organizations and individuals in the diaspora and the Global South.
What we do
Organization of meetings, conferences, and networking activities
Collaboration with International Partners.
Initiating and coordinating heritage and awareness projects.
Advisory services and advocacy: We participate in dialogue with local, national, and international governments and organizations with the aim of supporting the interests of our (future) members and the Afro community.
Capacity building: Training, workshops, and knowledge exchange for leaders and organizations.
Project development: Initiatives in the fields of emancipation, education, health, entrepreneurship, and social participation. Support for cultural and educational projects.
Networking: Creating platforms for cooperation between diaspora communities and the Global South.
Policy influence: Active involvement in shaping policy that affects Afro-communities worldwide.
Management and expenditure of assets
The assets of the federation are managed by the board. Expenditures are made exclusively for the realization of the statutory objectives. Funds are used for project costs, organizational costs, and activities serving the public interest.
Any positive balances will be added to the association's assets and used for future activities.
Fundraising
The federation derives income from:
membership fees;
subsidies and contributions from governments;
donations and gifts;
funds and sponsors;
other benefits that fit within the objective.
Remuneration policy
In principle, board members receive no remuneration for their work. They are entitled to reimbursement of reasonable expenses incurred.
The association's articles of association provide for the possibility of granting board members a reasonable remuneration, should the General Meeting so decide. Any remuneration shall at all times be in line with market rates, be determined transparently, and comply with the frameworks set by the Tax and Customs Administration for ANBI institutions.
Reporting and transparency
The federation prepares an annual report and financial statement each year. These are adopted by the General Meeting of Members. The association acts transparently and makes relevant information available in accordance with ANBI requirements.
