Subject: Invitation to Online Dialogue Sessions regarding the Dutch Abstention on UN Resolution (/A_80_L.48)

Dear members of the Afro community and grassroots organizations in the Netherlands, the Caribbean parts of the Kingdom and Suriname,

On 11 April, the Federation Afro Diaspora Network (FADN) organized a Pan-African Roundtable Dialogue to engage in conversation with the Afro community. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the planned dialogue session during this gathering unfortunately could not take place.The Federation Afro Diaspora Network (FADN) highly values continued dialogue, connection and engagement within our community. In order to gain a broader understanding of the various perspectives and viewpoints that exist within the Afro community, FADN is therefore organizing an online follow-up session.

During this online dialogue meeting, we would like to engage collectively in discussions regarding the Dutch abstention on UN Resolution A/80/L.48, the commemoration of the slavery past on 1 July 2026, and the significance of these matters for the Afro community and wider society. In addition, these sessions will provide space for reflection, dialogue and the exchange of perspectives, experiences and concerns within our community.
